LEADERSHIP EMPOWERMENT SESSIONS

Throughout the three-day COCLC leadership experience, every student leader who attends this national leadership conference will engage in six interactive empowerment leadership sessions with trained student affair professionals who serve as leadership coaches to the diverse student leaders attending the conference.

The descriptions for each session are provided below:

FRIDAY SESSIONS

Session-1

Facilitation Session One

Developing Your Personal Leadership Brand

Goal: The objective of this session is to increase student awareness about their personal leadership brand.

The first empowerment leadership breakout session with our trained coaches will focus on helping emerging and seasoned leaders develop their personal leadership brand by identifying their talents, strengths, passions, values, personality, and career interest. This interactive session will revolve around various assessments, activities, and reflection exercises.

Facilitation Session Two

Developing Your Personal Leadership Identity

Goal: The objective of this session is to help students identify and create their personal leadership identity.

The second empowerment leadership breakout session, with our trained coaches, will focus on assisting emerging and seasoned leaders develop their personal leadership identity. This interactive session will center around various activities and reflection exercises focused on helping leaders identify their leadership styles.

Session-2

Facilitation Session Three

Developing Your Ethical Compass

Goal: The objective of this session is to help students develop an ethical leadership compass.

The third empowerment leadership breakout session, with our trained coaches, will focus on helping emerging and seasoned leaders develop an ethical leadership compass geared towards assisting participants with making positive decisions, lead with exceptional character, and serve others fairly and respectfully as leaders. This interactive session will center on various assessments, activities, and reflection exercises.

Facilitation Session Four

Increasing Global and Social Awareness

Goal: The objective of this session is to help students increase their global and social awareness as leaders.

The fourth empowerment leadership breakout session, with our trained coaches, will focus on helping emerging and seasoned leaders increase their global and social awareness while also learning how to effectively connect, interact, and lead diverse groups of people.

Facilitation Session Five

Developing Your Vision to Change the World

Goal: The objective of this session is to help students develop a clear, concise, and compelling vision to change the world.

The fifth empowerment leadership breakout session with our trained coaches will focus on helping emerging and seasoned leaders develop a solid vision to change the world. This interactive session will consist of vision mapping and the creation of vision boards.

 

SUNDAY SESSIONS

Session-2

Facilitation Session Six

A Call to Action

Goal: The objective of this session is to help students develop a plan of action that will lead to immediate impact when they return to their respected campuses and communities.

The sixth empowerment leadership breakout session, with our trained coaches, will focus on helping emerging and seasoned leaders develop a call to action by identifying goals, strategic action plan, and creating a network of resources to help them make a positive impact in the world as a leader. Our hope is that students create a specific plan to make their campus community better for everyone.
